Private Pilot Training
Private Pilot Training Eligibility Requirements:

Provide proof of US citizenship or complete the TSA flight training application
-
Although flight education may begin before age 16, be at least 16 years of age to solo and at least 17 years of age to receive the license
-
Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
-
Obtain at least a 3rd class FAA Medical Certificate
-
Satisfactorily complete an FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test
-
Complete a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including 10 hours of solo experience
-
Satisfactorily complete an FAA Check Ride

Eligibility Requirements:

Must complete ATP-CTP Written Exam prior to starting

ATP candidates must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR 61.153, 155, 156 (if applicable), 157, 159 and 160 (if applicable).
Slight variations exist in age, training and experience requirements based on the education background and flight experience of each candidate. Please contact Red River Flight Academy to help you ascertain your specific requirements in order to be eligible to pursue this certificate.

Complex Transition
​
To earn a complex endorsement, a pilot must train with a Certified Flight Instructor. There is no hourly requirement or written examination, just an instructor endorsement stating the pilot is proficient and safe in the operation of complex aircraft. The pilot may hold either a PRIVATE or COMMERCIAL Pilot certificate.
